Guarded by the Palisades and surrounding oak-studded hills, the 5+ acre vineyard is the heart and soul of the Resort. Much more than resort landscaping, the vineyard at Calistoga Resort is a fully operational, organically hand-farmed vineyard, offering the unique terroir of the Calistoga AVA in every cluster, every barrel, every glass.
With the warmest microclimate in Napa Valley, the Calistoga AVA is ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, so it’s only fitting that we grow 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Thomas Brown, along with his team of viticulture experts, designed and replanted the vineyard to bring the balance and structure of the soil into concentrated flavor of the Cab grapes.
Careful attention was given to drainage, soil conditioning, row alignment, block spacing, irrigation infrastructure, frost protection and, most importantly, the root stock and clone stock selection. In addition to the grapes grown at the Resort, Thomas has carefully selected additional tonnage from a handful of the finest local vineyards, blending together the very best fruit of the famed Napa Valley.
The vineyard at Calistoga Resort will be a fully operational, organically hand-farmed vineyard, designed and replanted by Thomas Brown and his team to bring the very best of the Calistoga AVA into every glass of estate-grown Cab.
